Sometimes, less is more. If you are familiar with our pickup systems, you probably already noticed one thing. They're pretty straightforward. That didn't happen on accident! We believe very strongly in preserving the natural tones of your instrument. This preamp does just that, and is the perfect compliment to our pickup systems. They will work very well with any other acoustic pickup on the market, as well as a clean boost for pretty much any electric instrument.

While some other units on the market may have more "bells and whistles", that's not always a good thing. As your signal passes through the multitude of components in other preamp units, signal degradation and hum is tough to avoid. With this unit, we used the highest quality components we could get our hands on. We also ensured that the signal doesn't have to take the long way home (to your amplifier). As a result, we believe that this is the cleanest, most natural sounding preamp that you will ever hear. There is not even the slightest amount of hum. It's completely silent where it should be, and absolutely dynamic where it has to be.

The JP1 preamp is based around a genuine Burr Brown Opamp. It features genuine WIMA capacitors and high quality connectors, potentiometers and switch. We did not cut any corners with this one.

The enclosure features a durable powder coated finish. The graphics are laser etched into the powder coating. There are no painted on graphics or stickers that will inevitably wear off over time.

The gain is preset to 4 times the input signal at max volume. The foot switch functions as a "mute".

Simply plug your guitar into the input, run a second cable from the output to your amplifier, ensure that the switch is engaged (blue LED light on), and adjust the output using the volume control. As we said.... pretty simple!
